区别辨析announce、declare、proclaim、pronounce、advertise、broadcast与publish

这些动词均含“宣布，公开”之意。

announce ：多指首次宣布大家感兴趣或可满足大家好奇心的事情。

• They haven’t formally announced their engagement yet.
  他们还没有正式宣布订婚。

declare ：侧重正式就某事清楚明白地宣布。

• The government has declared a state of emergency.
  政府已宣布进入紧急状态。

proclaim ：指官方宣布重大事件或施政方针，语体比announce正式。

• The president proclaimed a state of emergency.
  总统宣布了紧急状态。
• The charter proclaimed that all states would have their own government.
  宪章规定，各州皆允建立各自的政府。

pronounce ：词义与announce, declare接近，但较多用于指法律判决方面的宣布。

• The judge will pronounce sentence today.
  法官将于今天宣判。
• I now pronounce you man and wife (= in a marriage ceremony) .
  现在正式宣布你们结为夫妻。

advertise ：指通过文字和图像资料等的反复宣传而引起公众的注意，有时隐含令人不快或言过其实的意味。

• The players can advertise baked beans, but not rugby boots.
  球员可以给烤菜豆做广告，但不能代言橄榄球靴。

broadcast ：专指利用广播或电视传播消息或发表见解。

• In a broadcast on state radio the government also announced that it was willing to resume peace negotiations.
  在国家电台的广播中，政府也声明愿意重新开始和平谈判。

publish ：专指通过报刊或其它媒介向公众公布事情。

• The demonstrators called on the government to publish a list of registered voters.
  游行者呼吁政府公布注册选民的名单。
