区别辨析idle与lazy

idle与lazy这两个形容词均有“闲散、懒惰”之意。

idle : 通常指不忙，无事可干，一般不含应责备之意。

• If you have an idle moment, call me.
  如果你有空闲时间，给我打电话。
• 他空闲时就刻木雕。
  In idle moments, he carved wooden figures.

lazy : 指好逸恶劳，贪闲偷懒，或不愿学习或工作等，常含应受责备之意。

• 经理们抱怨工人们懒惰而且不可靠。
  Managers had complained that the workers were lazy and unreliable.
• 起床了，懒蛋！
  Get out of bed, you lazy thing!
• 他很懒，不愿走路上班。
  He’s too lazy to walk to work.
