据多家美国媒体9月2日报道，京东集团创始人兼首席执行官刘强东因涉嫌“构成犯罪的性行为”（criminal sexual conduct）于当地时间8月31日晚间在明尼苏达州被逮捕，9月1日下午被释放。
明尼苏达州亨内平（Hennepin County）郡警察局的记录显示，刘强东在当地时间8月31日晚11点32分因“criminal sexual conduct（构成犯罪的性行为）”被逮捕，9月1日下午4点后被释放，保释金为零。目前刘强东案子的状态是“Released Pending Complaint（已释放，等待起诉）”。
明尼阿波利斯警察局发言人艾德（John Elder）就“Released Pending Complaint”状态表示：在被警方释放后，刘强东目前的个人行动自由并不受到限制，他可以离开明尼苏达州，也可以离开美国，但并不代表他是无罪的，他在被警方联系的时候需要进行配合，这起案件没有结束，我们对这起案件仍在调查之中。
