在党的十九大报告中，习近平总书记指出：
当前，反腐败斗争形势依然严峻复杂，巩固压倒性态势、夺取压倒性胜利的决心必须坚如磐石。
Currently, the fight against corruption remains grave and complex; we must remain as firm as a rock in our resolve to build on the overwhelming momentum and secure a sweeping victory.
十九大以来，党中央反腐败决心不变、力度不减、尺度不松。2018年12月13日召开的中央政治局会议指出:“反腐败斗争取得压倒性胜利，全面从严治党取得重大成果（the nation’s anti-graft efforts have produced an overwhelming victory and full, strict governance over the Party has made significant progress）。”
从形成“压倒性态势（overwhelming momentum）”到取得“压倒性胜利（sweeping victory）”，标志着我国反腐斗争成果正从量的积累迈向质的转变。中央政治局会议在作出“反腐败斗争取得压倒性胜利”重大判断的同时，也明确重申“反腐败斗争形势依然严峻复杂，全面从严治党依然任重道远（the anti-corruption fight remains challenging and complex, and strict governance over the Party remains a long and arduous task）”，并进一步强调“要有力削减存量、有效遏制增量，巩固发展反腐败斗争压倒性胜利”。
